New President for the Swiss Independent Complaints Authority

Mascha Santschi Kallay succeeded Vincent Augustin as of 1 January 2019

Following her appointment on 7 November 2018 by the Swiss Federal Council, since 1 January 2019 Mascha Santschi Kallay is the new President of the Independent Complaints Authority (ICA). She succeeded Vincent Augustin, who will now chair "SRG SSR Svizra Rumantscha", which is the body responsible for Romansh-language audiovisual services. The Federal Council also appointed Armon Vital as a new member of the AIEP as of 1 January 2019.

  • Mascha Santschi Kallay is a lawyer, communication consultant with journalistic experience and member of AIEP since 2016.
  • Armon Vital is an independent lawyer and notary; he was also an alternate judge at the Cantonal Court of Grisons.

Background: ICA is the independent Radio and Television Complaints Authority. It is composed of nine members appointed by the Federal Council and deals mainly with complaints against radio and television broadcasts by Swiss broadcasters as well as further editorial programming, i.e. non-linear content such as online content and Teletext bulletins of the PSM SRG SSR.
