The European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) and the Comms Policy Collaborative (CPC) in the Department of Communications at the University of Vienna, are excited to announce their new partnership initiative.

The initiative, the first of its kind for both EPRA and the newly-established CPC, started as a means to bolster capacities of both parties, and build closer connections between research and policy making stakeholders, for more inclusive and sustainable media governance.

 

EPRA members will benefit:

• from state of the art research on issues ranging from youth digital engagement to disinformation

• innovative strategies and international cooperation to promote NRAs as modern institutions ready to meet the challenges of digital regulation

 

The CPC is welcoming the opportunity to work with the Platform as a whole, but also with individual EPRA members, who could benefit from Department scholarship. The initiative will expand opportunities for University researchers to meaningfully contribute to crucial policy processes, and practically apply knowledge for more sustainable and impactful research and policy participation.

The first collaborative working group meeting on the safety of youth in the digital engagement took place at the end of 2021 - the resulting working paper can be found here.

Given the volatility and ever-increasing significance of the digital ecosystem, engagement of all stakeholders in digital policy to ensure accessibility and broad participation is of highest priority. This partnership initiative could serve as a template for similar collaboration amongst and between a diversity of stakeholders, to ensure that we can collectively keep up with and sustainably address both the pressing challenges and opportunities for innovation and community-building in the digital age.
