Major Events: Serbian REM adopts new list

At its session held on 14 March 2018, the Serbian Regulatory Authority of Electronic Media (REM) adopted a new list of Major Events in the Republic of Serbia pursuant to Article 64, paragraph 2 of the Law on Electronic Media (“Official Gazette of the RS”, No. 83/14, 6/16) and the Rulebook on the criteria for determining the list of major events.

The main changes of the new list are the following:

• All the matches involving the national teams for most sports (Football, Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Water Polo, and Athletics) have been replaced by coverage of only the semifinal and final matches of the respective events.

• Have been deleted from the previous list the Belgrade Marathon (Athletics), several Basketball events (Euroleague, ABA league, National cup), the national Championship of cycling, the national Cup and League football matches, the EHF Championship league (Handball) and the swimming World and European Championships.

On the same date, the new list of Major Events in the Republic of Serbia replaced the previous one adopted in 2016 (“Official Gazette of RS”, No. 45/2016).
