The French CSA (Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel) has just published a report on the protection of minors in the era of converging audiovisual media and the internet. The report was prepared at the request of Mrs Claude Greff, Secretary of State for families.
The paper deals with the protection of young audiences against offensive audiovisual content on the Internet but excludes the specific issue of the fight against child pornography.
The report provides an overview of the current situation, and presents proposals which may require the launch of a consultation with all concerned parties, stakeholders and representatives of civil society with the view of adopting a legal instrument.
