The National Audiovisual Council of Romania (NAC) launched a new public hotline number where cases of violation of the protection of minors in the field of television broadcasting may be reported.

The free of charge hotline was launched as a result of a debate organised by the NAC entitled "Do not forget kids - see what your child is watching" which took place on 8 March 2013 in Bucharest. The Minister of Education, academics, education professionals, associations of parents and NGOs, as well as representatives of broadcasters took part in this debate. At the end of the meeting the Minister of Education signed a framework agreement aimed at joining forces to promote and protect the rights of minors in the field of television broadcasting.
