New Chairperson for the Romanian National Audiovisual Council

On 3 July 2019, Ms. Maria Monica Gubernat was officially appointed as President of the Romanian regulatory authority, the National Audiovisual Council (NAC), further to the validation of the Romanian Parliament. Until recently, she was Vice Chairperson ad interim.

In addition, Mr. Nicolaie Bălaşa-Sorescu was elected NAC's Vice-President. He joined the Board in December 2018, alongside three new members:

• Ms. Ramona Elena Sorescu,

• Ms. Cristina Ancuţa Pocora and

• Mr. Alexandru Kocsis-Cristea.

The Council is made up of 11 members, elected for a 6-year mandate.
