Amma Asante is the new chair of the Dutch Commissariaat voor de Media

Appointed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science – Gunay Uslu – Amma Asante succeeds Renate Eringa-Wensing – currently interim chair - as the Chairperson of the Dutch media regulator, the Commissariaat voor de Media (CvdM).

Her mandate starts on September 15, 2022 for a five-year term.

With extensive experience in social and political activities, she was a member of the Amsterdam City Council for 8 years and member of the Parliament from 2016 to 2017.

 

More information on the CvdM: The Dutch Media Authority is led by a Board of Commissioners and consists of the chair of the authority – Amma Asante as of September 15 – and two Commissioners - Steven Flipse and Peter Eijsvoogel - who are jointly charged with administrative decision-making, the strategic plan of the CvdM and the policy frameworks.
