EPRA to convene in Vienna for its 46th Meeting

The detailed Agenda for the 46th EPRA meeting, which will take place on 11-13 October in Vienna, is now available. The conference, hosted by KommAustria, the audiovisual regulatory authority in Austria, will gather about 145 delegates representing 51 member authorities, permanent observers and invited media experts who will discuss current issues pertaining to audiovisual media regulation in Europe and exchange on topics of common interest.

This year’s plenary sessions will revolve around the theme of “News in the digital age” with a special focus on the role of regulators concerning the Implementation of impartiality, accuracy and fairness in practice (Plenary Session 1) and the “Promises and Challenges of digital Disruption” where participants will discuss on “Minors’ advertising literacy in the digital age” (Plenary Session 2).

Three parallel working groups will allow regulators to actively exchange experience and best practices on the following topics:

  • Working Group I: Media literacy: Focus on the role of regulators
  • Working Group II: Licensing and Authorisation Procedures
  • Working Group III: The Changing Relationship between citizens and regulators

EPRA provides an independent and transparent forum for 52 audiovisual regulators in wider Europe to share relevant information, best practice, experience and expertise. It explores innovative means of regulating and analysing the audiovisual sector and sharing that with a wider audience of stakeholders.
