ERGA/EMIL (EPRA) Joint Event

The European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media (ERGA) and EMIL, the Media Literacy taskforce of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA), have the pleasure to invite you to their joint event:

Linking news and journalism to tackling disinformation and building trust

4th November 2022 // 11:00 – 12:30 CET

Context: Quality journalism and public trust in news are acknowledged as crucial for society and democracy. As remedies to tackle disinformation, they might also serve as an indicator of media literacy levels in a population per se.

Can news and information literacy help promote quality journalism and build public trust?

ERGA and EPRA invite you to join renowned speakers, experts and media regulators to discuss the challenges and opportunities raised by news and information literacy.

  • Understanding the impact of disinformation on the relationship between journalism, news and media literacy and the implications for the future
  • Inspiring each other on how to promote and build trust in journalism
  • Sharing experiences on how to develop and evaluate news and information literacy projects

  • Online
  • A keynote introduction by Divina Frau-Meigs followed by a presentation of news and information literacy projects and a discussion with the audience.
