French CSA selects six new HD channels for DTT network

Further to the call for tenders of 18 October 2011 with the view of launching of six HD channels on the DTT network, the Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel (CSA), the French regulatory authority, has selected, on 27 March 2012, the following projects:
- Chérie HD (NRJ Group)
- L’Equipe HD (Amaury Group)
- HD1 (TF1 Group)
- RMC Découverte (NextRadioTV Group)
- TVous La Diversité (Company Diversité TV France)
- 6 Ter (M6 Group)
The new HD channels will start broadcasting before the end of 2012 and are expected to reach 50% of the country by the middle of next year. From that date there will be 11 HD channels on the DTT network.
