A new Chairperson for the Bulgarian Council for Electronic Media

Further to a recent decision of the Board of the Council of 9 May 2016, Ms. Maria Stoyanova has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Bulgarian Council for Electronic Media (CEM) for a term of 6 years expiring in 2022. She took over from Mr. Georgi Lozanov.

The regulator has undergone a renewal process and three new members out of a total of five took office on 27 April. The Board is composed of five members, three of which are elected by the National Assembly and two are appointed by the President.

The new Board of CEM is thus composed as follows:

  • Ms. Maria Stoyanova, Chairwoman
  • Ms. Betina Zhoteva (appointed by the President)
  • Ms. Rozita Elenova (elected by the Parliament)
  • Ms. Sofia Vladimitorva (elected by the Parliament)
  • Mr. Ivo Atanasov (member since 2013)
