Vilnius EPRA meeting: the supervision of new media at the centre of the debates

The 38th EPRA meeting will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 2-4 October 2013 at the invitation of the Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania.

On this occasion, about 150 delegates from over 40 European regulatory authorities in Europe will meet to discuss issues related to media regulation and exchange information and best practices on topics of common interest.

The upcoming meeting will discuss best practices and methodologies implemented by regulators to supervise on-demand media services (Plenary session 1) and will look at the challenges of assessing plurality in an online environment (Plenary Session 2).

Three parallel working groups will also convene to discuss issues related to:

  • Political communication in the era of online and social media (working group 1)
  • Local and community media (working group 2)
  • A topical debate on Spectrum with a focus on the 700 MHz band (working group 3).
