The Department of Health and the Catalan Audiovisual Council draw up guidelines in response to the rise in content promoting anorexia and bulimia

The Department of Health of the Catalan Government and the Catalan Audiovisual Council (CAC) draw up guidelines in response to the rise in content promoting anorexia and bulimia, particularly on the internet. The guidelines drawn up by the Department of Health and the CAC, and presented last 13 July , are an update of a document written by the CAC in 2007, including various new aspects such as internet content. On this regard, the CAC has monitored the internet and drafted a report on 15 blogs that promote anorexia and bulimia as part of its project to control risk content on the internet. As a result of this monitoring, the Department of Health and the CAC filed a joint complaint with the provincial prosecutor of Barcelona regarding a possible criminal offence. This has been the second action taken by the broadcasting regulator with regard to the internet. The first action reported child pornography on the net, which was also submitted to the public prosecutor
