Consultation on 2016 Annual Colloquium on ‘Media Pluralism and Democracy'

We would like to raise your attention to the public consultation launched by the European Commission which purpose is to feed into the second Annual Colloquium on Fundamental Rights which will take place on 17-18 November 2016 in Brussels. The Colloquium will explore the multiple links between a free and pluralist media space on the one hand and democracy on the other hand.

The consultation will run over 8 weeks and will be closed on 14 July 2016. The contributions could be submitted on the following link: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/2016AC

The public consultation is of particular relevance for international organisations, EU Member States and their different Ministries, agencies and departments, civil society, business and media representatives, including publishers, journalists and reporters, judges, prosecutors, ombudspersons, academics.

The Consultation includes general questions related to media freedom and pluralism, hate speech, media literacy, journalism as well some questions concerning the independence of media regulatory authorities.
